One Quarter in to our Year of the Supernatural

It’s April 2017, and the first quarter is gone…but are we enjoying the supernatural? Let’s be real…
Once a while, one needs to pause and take stock of happenings in one’s life. For some it’s an annual exercise, for others monthly, while some do not have a structured way of review.
This year 2017, God has expressly spoken to us, that it will be for us; A Year of Supernatural Overflow. Can we take stock and ask ourselves; where are we in this matter of Supernatural Overflow?
Lent is a good moment for such a spiritual stocktaking; a retreat from life’s busy surface to its solemn deeps.
In our text for the year Luke 5, Peter fished all night and caught nothing, is the same thing happening to me? Am I catching anything, or nothing? I need to examine myself…The bible in 2nd Cor. 13: 5 says we should examine ourselves as to whether we are still in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.
The Jesus entered Peter’s boat, and after ministration, He commanded Peter… “Launch out into deep, and let down the nets for a catch.” From 2nd Cor. 13: 5, we know and believe that Jesus is in us, and by inference, He speaks to us, Launch out into the ‘deep’ not shallow…the deep, that’s where the mega stuff it.
Perhaps Jesus is not even in us, not in our boat! Maybe we need to get Him in. In Rev. 3: 20, He says, He stands at the door and knock, if we open, He will come in. It’s time to let Him into our boat. It’s time to flush out all that will stop Him from entering our boat.
He was in Peter’s boat, so Peter was able to say with boldness…at your word, I will let down my net, and they had a mighty catch! It’s time for us to let down our net, it’s time to stop the ‘spiritual thieves’ from stealing from us, it’s time for us to possess our possession
Do you know that Spiritual Thieves can rub us of our inheritance in Christ? There are many things that can be stolen in the life of a Believer? Just think of your boldness to testify, that was replaced by timidity and fear of man. How about your God-given authority that made room for complacency? Your health that was stolen only to leave sickness and pain? Is it lack, poverty, barrenness? The list is endless. We soon find out there are many things that can be stolen from us.
Simply ask yourself one question: What do I have to offer? If your response is “not much” or “I do not know,” you probably were the target of a demonic or circumstantial thief. Once you know what was stolen, you can claim it back! Identify your losses and let the Lord restore them to you. Remember John 10: 10, “I (Jesus) came that you might have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” He will try to break the stolen thing so you are left with the pieces.
It’s time to take stock and recover. May that be our portion going forward in Jesus name.
