Our Month of Divine Laughter iii

Going forward, because we belong to this assembly, this family of God in ACOTA, we shall experience the ‘transformation’ that will cause us to continue in ‘laughter’.

Like we said last week, it’s not strange to cry or weep; what is strange is when our tears are not wiped. The word of God tells us in Ps. 30: 5b that – Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning’. Your morning is here; so receive your joy in Jesus name.

All our challenges, issues, troubles, doubts, have all been taken care of by our Lord Jesus Christ, what we are to do is to receive salvation and deliverance from Him, and we are good to laugh.

Listen to God’s word in Isaiah 53: 4,5 … Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

Very comforting words, but it seems to simple for us, as we like complicated issues. Jesus tells us in Matt. 11: 30 that – His yoke is easy and His burden is light.”So why do we think it has to be difficult?

Jesus has borne our grief. Our sorrows are the ones He carried. Our transgressions — all our sins — were the ones that pierced him, the ones for which He paid. For us. He was crushed, viciously slaughtered, for our iniquities. It was a slaughter we deserved — a punishment reserved for us — that He took upon himself, in our place, so that we get peace. By his wounds we have been healed. It’s a good place to laugh!

Praise the One Who Paid Our Debt

And so, what do we do? We trust Him, and forsake the foolish pursuits that used to consume our lives. We should stop condemning ourselves for past sins. We should relinquish the shame we’ve harbored for so long and abandon our self-absorbed efforts to make ourselves worthy. We should turn from our sin, trust him, and sing unto the Lord a new song!

Praise the One who paid our debt,
And raised our lives up from the dead.

Yes, we will sing, both now and forever.

In 1st Cor. 10: 13, the Bible says ‘No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it’.

Are you tempted, there is already a way of escape for you; you can’t be caged, you are delivered and free; for he who Jesus Christ sets free, is free indeed – John 8: 36.

I wish you a month full of laughter.

God bless you all, and have a great week ahead.

Keep laughing.

 Your vicar and friend.
