Our Year of Transformation

This is our year of Transformation. The Lord wants us all to be transformed. We need to live our name.

Our scriptural basis is Rom. 12: 1,2 – “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Apostle Paul passionately appeals to us Christians by the mercies of God, to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.

He asked us not to conform to the standards of this world, but to be TRANSFORMED, by the renewing of our mind. The mind is the battle field. Once you conquer the mind, you are on your way to victory.

When we present ourselves as a living sacrifice and refuse to be conformed to this world; we become transformed.

To be “transformed” means to be “changed.” This comes about by the “renewing of our mind.”

Our mind is renewed and our life changed through:

·         Prayer

·         Fasting

·         Bible Study and Bible Reading

·         Listening to the Word of God

·         Submitting to the work of God in our lives

God expects us “…to be conformed to the image of his Son.”  (Rom. 8:29He accepts us as we are but will not leave us there.  He wants us to be changed.

The whole salvation experience begins with making a change (in repentance).  God changes us through the born-again experience and transforms (changes) our destiny.

“Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Cor. 5:17)

In Rom. 8:5, the bible says ‘those who live according to the flesh set their mind on things of the flesh, while those who live according to the spirit set their mind on things of the spirit. And because God is Spirit, we His children too should be Spirit!

Jesus knows the pleasures we need to carry on in life, and so He commands in Matt. 6:33 – ‘But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you’. Once we seek and find Him, all we need, will naturally flow.

Ask Him into your life to transform it, and you will enjoy the Transformed Life.

Have a transformed year and may it be our best so far.

Your vicar and friend.
