The Reverend Benjamin and Mrs. Modupe Okwumabua

Today, we celebrate our brethren The Revd. Benjamin and Mrs. Modupe Okwumabua.

Saying goodbye to someone is never easy, especially when it’s someone that has had a huge impact on your life. The same can be said for our Revd. And Mrs. Ben. Okwumabua, but it’s the nature of the profession of being pastor; you’re subject to possibly move at any given moment.

On behalf of all of us at the ‘Anglican Church of Transformation Abijo’ “ACOTA” I would like to personally thank you on your sojourn with us here in church. We all enjoyed working with you during your time here, and we consider you not only a valuable asset to the church of God here but an enjoyable presence in church, as well.

Your hard work and diligence greatly benefited the church of God here, and I hope and pray that your new field will benefit greatly from your experience.  You will be missed by all of us at ACOTA.

Your contributions to our overall spiritual and physical development of the church and the daily operations with the guidance you provided will be sorely missed.

It has always been my pleasure to work with you. So, while I am saddened to see you go, I am confident that you will find the same success and happiness in your new field that you experienced during your time here.

Ben and his family served here in ACOTA Abijo, for about 3 years, and our church has been blessed by their leadership.

Even though we knew ourselves long before now, having been in the same church at The Church of the Resurrection 1004 Federal Housing Estate Victoria island, as laity, with Ven. S. Igein Isemede as our vicar, we become a closer family here, and I deeply value that.  We’ve seen each other go through some highs, we’ve seen each other go through some lows.  We’ve had fun times together, and we’ve sweated together through working for the church.

I just want to thank you for your service with us. What you have meant to this church, it’s congregation, and this community is undeniable. Your impact was seen immediately and your impact will continue to be seen in the weeks and years to come.

May God bless and keep you safely in His arms as you continue to serve in this last dispensation of time.

So, with all of that said,… Thank you. Thank you for everything. Your next church is getting a gem of a pastor, and I can’t wait to see what God has planned for you, your family, and your new church family. I pray that you find peace in this move and God’s blessing be on your family during this transition.

May God always be near you, showering his blessings and faith on you and your family.

With much Affection, Love, and Gratitude from our Church Family.

The Revd. Canon Kiri Wakama

For all of us at ACOTA.
