Easter – The Fulfilment of Promise

At creation, everything was good, the Bible keeps repeating the phrase “…and God saw that it was good” after every act of creation. And in Genesis 1: 31, after the entire work of creation crowned by the creation of mankind, God said “it was very good”. So, there was no record of God creating evil. Evil is an adulteration of the creation of God through the manipulation of satan.

Satan in an attempt to turn man away from God, tempted mankind, and mankind in response, sinned against God. In Genesis Chapter 3, God was so upset with man that He placed a curse and drove out man from the ‘Garden of Eden.’ Ever since, the story of man has been on how to return to God. Man has tried all sorts but the truth is that man on his own does not have the capacity to return to God. It has to be through the power of God! He must accept the salvation plan of God.

Scripture tells us in Rom. 5: 8 that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us…that we might live to God. This is the story of Easter that we celebrate. The very popular bible passage tells us that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him would not die but have everlasting life. John 3: 16. God has given His condition, it is for us men to accept the condition, which is what Jesus Christ came to facilitate.

He took on our sins, the sin of the whole world, died in it, buried it, and arose in victory. His resurrection is what we today commemorate and celebrate. Alleluia He arose! He is not just a man, He is 100% God and also 100% man, in Him is the dwelling of Divinity and Humanity, and He has the power to transform us into who God wants us to be.

Our creed says …He is eternally begotten of the Father, begotten, not made like me and you! He Is God from God and is of one being with the Father.

So, Easter is not about a holiday, it’s not about parties and picnics, it’s about the ‘Risen Christ’ He arose that it

This same “resurrection power” is available to us, to quicken our mortal bodies, and give live to all the deadness that dwells in us. All we need do, is activate it.

And as you trust God with what you have today, know that He loves you and is setting you up for more blessings. So, expect to see even more of His provision and abundance and surprises in the days to come!
